With all older games that were critically acclaimed I feel a bit weird talking about them, and giving my thoughts. Take Bioshock for instance, many people claim it is the best game ever made or at least one of the best games ever made. So there are definitely a lot of people who really love the game. I also think the game is amazing, and would recommend it to anyone who has not played the Bioshock series. I will then backup this with my opinion that Bioshock is the best Bioshock game Overall. Well, I don’t know where I was going with all that so let me just touch on a few of the things that make & break this game. To start off with the gunplay mechanics are clunky. They are not polished like a good first person shooter should be. There is nothing like playing a FPS with golden mechanics. It feels so good. However Bioshock is not one of those games. Switching weapons is also a bit of a struggle and the mouse can get kinda wonky. The FoV is also a bit tight for widescreen monitors. If you can look past some of it’s technical flaws you will find yourself in rapture. The world you will be exploring is one of wonder, mystery, and a touch of horror. The game has a great balance between action, and exploring. The only way to play this game is to loot every last item, listen to ever diary, and check out every nook and cranny of the world. The game is worth worth the full $60, but hey it has been out for many a year so you can get it for way cheaper! Now go play it would you kindly?
I wanted to have some text content on this page, but what is there really left to say about this game? Being the game is over 10 years old it has been reviewed, and commented on to death. So here is a short collection of my thoughts on the game. Although the graphics are starting to suffer at this point they still can easily be ignored because of the masterpiece that they are bundled with. It all comes together gameplay, story, sound, music, and graphics bring together the final product. (Which is awesome)
As a final note if you need help getting it looking fantastic on a modern system remember to check out http://pcgamingwiki.com/, and to fix those pesky PunkBuster issues on multiplayer be sure to check out my tutorial on how to use PunkBuster Legacy here.
